'Next Top Imam' vs. 'Next Top Model'

I came across an interesting article today so as i really adamant to put some parts of the article in this blog. It is an article from Los Angeles Times, an online newspaper in the United States. It featured an article entitled MUSLIM WORLD: Malaysian reality-show contestants compete to be 'next top imam' .

I knew it was an obsolete news already as the news covering the recently 'hit reality show', has been featured by most of the renown media around the world long-long ago (BM diEnglishkan.sori). Not only BBC and CNN in the US, but the wide coverage went as far as the Europe and Middle East. Good news indeed in giving good perception to the foreigners towards Malaysia and of course toward Islam.

But what makes this article wisely-interesting is that, the 'Imam Muda' Reality show is being compared to the super-famous Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model" reality show. The author went on explaining that both reality shows are similar to each other, but with maximal differences.


Malaysia's new hit reality show, "Imam Muda," or "Young Imam," is a lot like Tyra Banks' "America's Next Top Model," except that instead of, say, posing naked with tarantulas, contestants must wash and prepare a body for burial according to Islamic tradition.

"Imam Muda" pits contestants against each other in a series of challenges to determine who will make the best spiritual leader, or imam. In the featured clip, competitors try their hand at divorce counseling in order to prove they have what it takes to serve their congregation.

Gegaran Gempa Bumi di UTP

Patutlah sekitar pukul 10 tadi tiba-tiba sahaja kerusi yang saya duduk rasa bergoyang-goyang.

Ingatkan dia saja nak bergegar. Seramlah jugak sekejap.

Gegaran dirasai ketika saya duduk di atas kerusi mengadap laptop, dalam sebuah bilik di tingkat paling atas bangunan blok v5c di UTP.

Then, sebab curious, terus bukak Berita Harian Online....tengok dekat bahagian terkini.

Confirmlah ada kejadian gempa bumi berukuran 6.1 pada skalar ritcher berlaku di Sumatera, Indonesia kira-kira pukul 10.11 pagi tadi.

Berikut adalah petikan daripada BH online:

Menurut Jabatan Meteorologi Malaysia, gempa bumi itu berlaku 10.11 pagi, berpusat di 40 kilometer (km) tenggara Padang Sidempuan, Indonesia, dan 307 km tenggara Klang, Selangor.

Sementara itu, Penolong Pengarah Operasi Bomba Wilayah Persekutuan, Azizan Ismail, berkata pihaknya menerima beberapa panggilan daripada pengurus bangunan di sekitar ibu negara yang memaklumkan berlakunya gegaran kecil.

"Antaranya bangunan yang menempatkan bank, hotel dan beberapa pangsapuri. Turut merasai gegaran kecil ialah ibu pejabat bomba Kuala Lumpur di Jalan Maharajalela," katanya sambil menambah pihak pengurusan bangunan dinasihatkan membuat pemeriksaan sendiri.

Azizan berkata, beliau dimaklumkan pengurus bangunan juga tidak meminta penghuni untuk mengosongkan bangunan.

"Pihak bomba akan memantau perkembangan tersebut melalui maklumat terkini Jabatan Meteorologi," katanya. -

World Cup part 2

I guess, i'm no good in forecasting anything

If anyone has looked at my previous post before, you will see that i have my own choice-list for the team that might be the winner of the World Cup- and guess what now, none of them were in the list.

The most frustrated one being the Brazil, the last team was in the choice-list and tonight being eliminated.

Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Now, i have a new instinct(?). If it is true...i will cut my finger he3 :)
